CNC Programmer / Setter Operator Job

Bespoke Career Solutions is recruiting an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter Operator for a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing environment in the West Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist who is confident programming, setting and operating 3-axis CNC machining centres. The role will involve producing high-quality press tooling, jigs, fixtures and other precision-engineered components.

CNC programming is completed offline using VISI Machining, working from CAD models to create programs ready for production. Experience with Hurco and Haas machinery would be particularly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate 3-axis CNC machining centres.
• Work with Hurco and Haas CNC machinery.
• Manufacture press tooling, jigs, fixtures and precision components.
• Work accurately from engineering drawings and CAD models.
• Produce CNC programs using offline programming software.
• Set tooling, work offsets and machining parameters.
• Inspect finished components to ensure they meet the required specifications.
• Maintain a consistently high standard of accuracy and workmanship.
• Work safely and efficiently within a precision engineering environment.

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC machinery.
• Experience working with 3-axis CNC machining centres.
• Hurco and/or Haas machining experience.
• Ability to work accurately to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality components.
• Good understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling and cutting conditions.

Desirable Experience

• Experience using VISI Machining for offline CNC programming.
• Experience producing programs directly from CAD models.
• Heidenhain control experience would be useful but is not essential.
• Previous experience manufacturing press tooling, jigs or fixtures.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30am–4:30pm.
• Friday: 7:00am–1:00pm.

Pay

Pay is negotiable from £18.00 per hour and will depend on your CNC programming, setting and machining experience.
