Press Brake Operator Job in Tamworth
Bespoke Career Solutions is recruiting an experienced Press Brake Operator for an established sheet-metal manufacturing company in the Tamworth area.
The role will involve operating Amada press brake machinery to produce accurately formed sheet-metal components. You will work from engineering drawings, select the correct tooling and complete dimensional and quality checks throughout the production process.
Previous press brake experience is required. Experience setting and operating Amada machines would be particularly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating Amada press brake machinery
- Producing formed sheet-metal components to the required specification
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and job instructions
- Selecting and installing the correct punches, dies and tooling
- Entering or adjusting machine settings where required
- Completing machine setups and preparing jobs for production
- Checking material type, thickness and dimensions before forming
- Completing first-off and in-process quality inspections
- Using vernier callipers, tape measures, angle gauges and other measuring equipment
- Checking bend angles, dimensions and component quality
- Making minor adjustments to maintain accuracy and consistency
- Identifying and reporting damaged, incorrect or non-conforming components
- Meeting production targets while maintaining high quality standards
- Handling sheet metal safely and preventing damage to finished components
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area
- Following company health and safety and quality procedures
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous press brake operating experience is required
- Experience working with Amada press brake machines would be advantageous
- Setting experience would be beneficial
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Good knowledge of sheet-metal forming and bend sequences
- Confidence using measuring and inspection equipment
- Ability to work accurately to dimensions and tolerances
- Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team
- Reliable, punctual and committed to safe working practices
