Production Operative Jobs in Aldridge

Bespoke Career Solutions is recruiting Production Operatives to join a busy commercial vehicle manufacturing company in Aldridge, Walsall.

You will work as part of a production team assembling commercial vehicle bodies, chassis base frames and associated components. This is a practical, hands-on role involving accurate measuring, drilling, fastening and fitting.

Applicants must be able to read a tape measure accurately and use basic hand tools confidently. Previous production, assembly, engineering or manufacturing experience would be advantageous.

This is an ongoing temporary-to-permanent opportunity offering stable work and the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembling commercial vehicle bodies and chassis base frames
• Building and fitting vehicle subsections and metal components
• Using spanners, ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers and other hand tools
• Using drills, power tools and pneumatic air tools
• Reading a tape measure accurately
• Measuring and marking out materials and components
• Drilling, fastening and securing parts
• Following assembly instructions and basic engineering drawings
• Working to measurements and product specifications
• Checking completed assemblies for accuracy and quality
• Identifying and reporting damaged or incorrect components
• Meeting daily production and quality requirements
• Keeping the workstation clean, organised and safe
• Following company health and safety procedures

Essential Requirements

• Ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Confidence using basic hand tools
• Good practical and mechanical ability
• Comfortable completing physically active, hands-on work
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable and punctual for a 6:30am start
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team
• Reliable transport to the Aldridge area

Desirable Experience

Previous experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

• Production assembly
• Commercial vehicle building
• Coachbuilding or vehicle body building
• Manufacturing or engineering
• Mechanical assembly
• Construction or another practical trade
• Using pneumatic air tools and power tools
• Reading basic engineering or assembly drawings
