Tablet / Mobile Phone Repair Engineer

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

Contract: Temporary to permanent

About the Role

Bespoke Career Solutions is recruiting a Tablet / Mobile Phone Repair Engineer for a busy electronics repair operation. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys diagnosing faults, working with small components and completing careful, consistent repairs.

You will inspect devices, identify faults, replace damaged components and test each device before it is returned to the customer. Work will involve a range of tablets and mobile phones, so you will need to follow repair procedures closely and keep accurate records of the work completed.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming tablets and mobile phones for damage and reported faults
• Diagnose hardware issues, including screen, battery, charging and button faults
• Safely disassemble devices and replace faulty or damaged components
• Carry out screen, battery, charging port and other component replacements where required
• Reassemble devices carefully, checking that parts are fitted correctly
• Test repaired devices, including charging, display, touch, cameras, speakers and connectivity functions
• Check the cosmetic condition and quality of completed repairs
• Record diagnoses, parts used, repair work and test results accurately
• Identify devices that require further investigation or cannot be repaired through the standard process
• Handle customer devices and information with care and follow data protection procedures
• Keep tools, parts and the workbench clean, organised and secure
• Work with colleagues to complete repairs within agreed timescales

Skills and Experience

• Previous hands-on experience repairing tablets, mobile phones or similar electronic devices is preferred
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out precise component replacements
• Confidence using small hand tools and electronics repair equipment
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Ability to follow technical instructions and repair processes
• A careful approach to testing and quality checking
• Good organisational skills and accurate record keeping
• Reliability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Experience repairing devices from major manufacturers, such as Apple and Samsung, would be advantageous. Candidates with a broader electronics repair background and demonstrable hands-on experience are also encouraged to apply.
