Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative
Location: Stafford | Salary: £50k | Shift Work | Permanent
An experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative is required to support a busy industrial manufacturing site. The role involves planned maintenance, reactive repairs and fault finding across production machinery, electrical systems, hydraulic equipment and site facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete planned preventive maintenance on production machinery
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
- Repair and replace worn or defective components
- Maintain conveyors, furnaces and industrial equipment
- Assist with machinery installation and commissioning
- Complete equipment inspections and maintenance records
- Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures
- Support the wider engineering and maintenance team
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a multi-skilled industrial maintenance role
- Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills
- Basic electrical repair and troubleshooting experience
- Experience maintaining manufacturing or production machinery
- Knowledge of conveyors, hydraulic systems and heavy industrial equipment
- Ability to work independently and prioritise urgent repairs
- Good problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification
- 17th or 18th Edition electrical certification is desirable
Desirable Experience
Experience within a foundry, recycling, quarrying, aggregates or heavy manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
