Bespoke Career Solutions is recruiting experienced Plater / Fabricators for a well-established engineering and fabrication business in the Stafford area.

This is a long-term Temp to Perm opportunity working on days, with hourly rates between £18.00 and £20.00 depending on experience.

The role is heavily focused on plating, marking out, fitting and fabrication rather than welding. You will be working on heavy-duty fabrications and structural steelwork, producing accurate components from engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Plating and fabricating heavy-duty steel components
• Working with structural steelwork and heavy sections
• Reading and working accurately from engineering and fabrication drawings
• Measuring, marking out and setting up components prior to fabrication
• Cutting, preparing, fitting and assembling steel sections
• Using hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment
• Checking dimensions and ensuring work is produced to specification
• Preparing fabricated assemblies for welding where required
• Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship
• Working safely within a busy engineering and fabrication environment

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for experienced candidates with a strong background in heavy fabrication, plating or structural steelwork.

• Previous experience as a Plater, Fabricator or Structural Steel Fabricator
• Strong fabrication and plating skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Confident measuring and marking out steel accurately
• Experience working with heavy steel sections and fabricated structures
• Good understanding of fitting and assembly techniques
• Ability to work accurately with minimal supervision
• A reliable and safety-conscious approach to work

Please note: this position is primarily a fabrication and plating role rather than a welding position. Welding may form part of the work, but strong plating, marking out and fabrication experience is more important.
