The Role – CNC Programmer / Setter

As a CNC Programmer / Setter, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating a CNC milling machine using Heidenhain controls. This role is ideal for someone who is confident making regular program adjustments and working from technical drawings.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines with Heidenhain controls
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
• Modify and adapt programs frequently to suit one-off and small batch work
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for each job
• Carry out first-off inspections to ensure quality standards are met
• Work on a variety of materials and complex components
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time adjustments
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and delivery

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Programmer / Setter
• Strong knowledge of Heidenhain control systems
• Experience with CNC milling machines
• Ability to adapt and edit programs confidently and frequently
• Experience working on one-off or small batch components
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
