Paint Team Leader

£37,440+ per year | Permanent | Days | Dudley | Manufacturing

This Paint Team Leader role is a hands-on leadership position in a busy manufacturing environment. You will manage the paint shop day-to-day, leading a small team and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standard.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of Paint Operatives on the shop floor
• Plan and schedule daily workloads in line with production plans
• Allocate work to ensure jobs are completed on time and in full
• Monitor output against OTIFNE targets and address issues early
• Set priorities and communicate completion times using planning boards
• Maintain quality standards and address non-conformances promptly
• Carry out final sign-off of completed work leaving the department
• Ensure all production and quality paperwork is completed accurately
• Enforce health & safety procedures, PPE compliance, and housekeeping standards
• Manage attendance, timekeeping, and shop-floor discipline
• Maintain training and competency records (SQEP)
• Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns
• Support training, coaching, and development of paint shop staff
• Liaise with planning, engineering, quality, and management teams
• Identify problems and implement corrective actions quickly

What we’re looking for:

• Previous hands-on experience in an industrial paint shop
• Experience leading or supervising a small production team
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Confident managing quality, safety, and delivery targets
• Experience within a manufacturing or sheet metal environment preferred
