About the role

Are you an experienced CNC Operator / Setter looking for a secure, long-term opportunity? We’re recruiting for a skilled individual to join a busy manufacturing team in Brownhills.

This role is ideal for someone confident in both operating and setting CNC machinery, with a strong understanding of machining processes and a hands-on approach to production.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Setting and operating CNC machines (lathes and/or mills)
• Loading and unloading materials and components safely and efficiently
• Carrying out tool changes and offsets to maintain production quality
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and job specifications
• Monitoring machine performance and making basic adjustments where required
• Inspecting finished components using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
• Ensuring all parts meet quality standards and tolerances
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
• Reporting any faults, issues, or non-conformances
• Supporting continuous improvement and production efficiency

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a CNC Operator / Setter / CNC Machinist
• Hands-on experience with tool changes and machine setup
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience working to tight tolerances
• Competent using inspection and measuring tools
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience with both CNC turning and milling
• Knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, etc.)
• Engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship
